Get to know us
Thanks to our strong educational curriculum, outstanding staff and commitment to early childhood learning and development, Christopher Robin & Friends Preschool stands out from other Seattle institutions. We offer specialized Preschool and Pre-K programs for children between the ages of two and five. We opened our new All 5's program in September 2013 and we will be entering our 3rd year this Fall, 2015. This class is designed for those children that miss the cut off date for kindergarten or perhaps would just benefit from another year in preschool.
We strive to provide each individual child with an environment that encourages self-discovery and a commitment to learning. Children are encouraged to learn how to solve problems, release their creativity and build social skills while using exploratory play with their peers. All in all, our curriculum lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning and social interaction.
We adhere to the highest standards of educational and child development. What's more, our dedicated staff has the experience and know-how to put these principles to work for each and every child. Christopher Robin & Friends Preschool carefully screens and interviews all teachers to ensure that they meet our high standards.
Ultimately, we have but one goal: the optimal development of your child.
Parental Involvement at Christopher Robin & Friends!
Together We Grow: We look forward to your participation!
Parents and guardians play a key role in a child’s early development. Nonetheless, the significance of your involvement is often underestimated at the Preschool and Pre-K level. This is why at Christopher Robin and Friends Preschool we encourage regular communication between parents and teachers.
The progress of your child can be discussed in scheduled one-on-one conferences. In addition, we sometimes ask parents to assist with the planning and implementation of special projects, fund raising events, field trips and other activities.
Activities to look forward to in 2015/2016:
- "Story Hour" Group
Mothers, fathers and grandparents who participate in this group are regularly invited to read their favorite stories to children of different age groups. Let your child's teacher know if you or you know someone who would like to participate.
- Spaghetti Dinner
- Curriculum Night
- Scholastic Book Fair
- Parent's Night Out
- Winter Wonderland Picnic
- Grandparents/Special Friend's Day
- Songfest/Art Show
- Play through Drama Students can participate in story time drama. We believe that imaginary play is so important at these young ages. Christopher Robin & Friends is a place where imagination comes to life.
- Wows and Wonders Program This program is offered as an extended day option. It's an enrichment opportunity that introduces students to emerging literacy, math and science concepts, as well as dramatic play and music.
